Al Salam Hospitals is pleased to welcome you to the Antimicrobial Stewardship Awareness Conference, held under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Ahmed Abdulwahab Al-Awadhi, Minister of Health of the State of Kuwait, under the theme “Stewardship in Practice: From Principles to Patient Care.”
As antimicrobial resistance continues to pose a significant challenge to global public health, the need for responsible antimicrobial use and effective stewardship has never been greater. This conference provides a platform to advance awareness, share evidence-based practices, and explore practical approaches to optimizing antimicrobial use, improving patient outcomes, and preserving the effectiveness of these essential treatments.
Bringing together healthcare professionals, medical experts, and key stakeholders from Kuwait’s public and private healthcare sectors, the conference will feature scientific discussions, expert perspectives, and opportunities for professional exchange. Participants will include representatives from the Ministry of Health, Kuwait Private Hospitals Federation, Kuwait Pharmaceutical Association, Kuwait Surgical Society, and other healthcare organizations.
Through knowledge sharing and multidisciplinary collaboration, the conference aims to bridge the gap between scientific principles and clinical practice, empowering healthcare professionals to translate antimicrobial stewardship strategies into meaningful improvements in patient care.
We look forward to welcoming you for a day of scientific exchange, professional collaboration, and shared commitment to advancing antimicrobial stewardship in Kuwait.

Conference Chairperson
Dear Colleagues and Distinguished Guests,
On behalf of Al Salam Hospitals, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Antimicrobial Stewardship Awareness Conference, bringing together healthcare professionals, experts, and key stakeholders for a day of scientific exchange, professional development, and collaboration.
Organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Kuwait Pharmaceutical Association, Clinical Pharmacy Society, and Kuwait Surgical Society, the conference reflects the multidisciplinary approach essential to advancing antimicrobial stewardship and addressing one of the most pressing challenges facing modern healthcare.
We are particularly pleased to welcome three distinguished international speakers who will share their expertise, perspectives, and clinical insights throughout the scientific program, enriching discussions and encouraging the exchange of knowledge and best practices.
Complementing the main conference program, two parallel workshops will offer participants opportunities for practical learning and professional engagement:
These workshops are open to healthcare professionals, including physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and technologists. As places are limited, early registration is encouraged.
Antimicrobial resistance remains a major global public health challenge, and the decisions we make in clinical practice today will shape the effectiveness of antimicrobial treatments for future generations. Antimicrobial stewardship extends beyond clinical guidelines and prescribing practices; it requires a shared commitment to patient safety, responsible antimicrobial use, and continuous improvement across healthcare disciplines.
Through this conference, we aim to translate scientific knowledge into practical approaches that strengthen antimicrobial stewardship and contribute to better patient outcomes.
I look forward to welcoming you for a day of meaningful discussions, shared learning, and collaboration as we work together to advance antimicrobial stewardship in Kuwait and beyond.
